There are many unique aspects to the web hosting Sri Lanka. One such example is the use of PHP on the servers to cater for the rapid growth in popularity of PHP over the last few years.

The foundation of the website using PHP was the creation of a web page using HTML and a PHP application. The PHP applications for this purpose were developed by an application developer or PHP programmer from Sri Lanka. Most of the applications came from the local PHP programmers, hence a relatively small amount was necessary to buy hosting space in Sri Lanka.

Processing PHP on the server was expensive because the original application developers were limited to the available server resources to carry out their functions. A new development has increased the use of PHP in Sri Lanka, and therefore the server resources and the cost is much lower.

Another advantage of PHP is that it can process large files efficiently. Web pages tend to grow larger over time. PHP will process large files in a more efficient manner to reduce bandwidth consumption.

When PHP is installed on the server, the administrator can then change any of the stored information to suit the needs of the client without having to download the whole file first. This can save a lot of bandwidth as well as disk space.

Another PHP application is the MySQL database. MySQL is a database management system. It enables the administration of databases and their permissions. This eliminates a lot of human error from the server.

There are many advantages to PHP and MySQL as well, and it is used extensively by most of the web hosting Sri Lanka servers. This is in part due to the requirements in both areas.

An SQL Server, which was a third party database management tool, was used extensively in the past to support PHP on the server. Now that the costs of SQL are much more expensive, more MySQL programmers are using the tools instead.

However, the use of PHP is still being used for creating dynamic websites. This is the domain of the WordPress software. WordPress is used extensively in order to create static sites as well as for creating dynamic sites.

The CMSs such as Drupal and Joomla are used for hosting websites. They provide a wealth of features and services such as hypertext links, customized contents, email accounts, and many other services. All these features of CMSs are used to create dynamic sites and generate more traffic for the Sri Lanka website.

When using PHP for server-side scripting, this also leads to a reduction in the cost of the software itself. The PHP application developer will not have to pay for the costs that would have been involved if he had used a standard programming language like C++.

With PHP and MySQL host, web developers are able to handle a wide range of customers and manage the entire server with fewer resources. The higher demand for PHP also leads to the development of better PHP applications.
